Commitment to Building Environmentally Friendly Homes
A strategic approach. Appraisal of the modern day construction industry, coupled with our ever increasing awareness for the need to look after our planet, dictate that we carefully consider critical environmental and green issues as a fundamentally important part of our 'new build' strategy. Every effort is made to ensure that materials used in our developments are derived from sustainable sources and that natural renewable products are used wherever practicable. This commitment has helped Sheiling's latest development, Lockley Court, Sapcote, to comfortably achieve level 3 of the 'Code for Sustainable Homes' (CSH Level 3). Within the next 5 years the CSH charter will undoubtedly become the 'bench mark' standard for the UK's new build housing sector. Sheiling Homes are proud to have made this commitment in advance of CSH Level 3 becoming a legal obligation under the UK 'Building Regulations'.
As part of our pledge to reduce carbon emissions, Sheiling Homes' current 37 dwelling development at Lockley Court has incorporated Air Source Heat Pumps as the standard heating source within its construction specification. Emissions from this system are zero while savings on daily energy bills are 60 – 70% below that of a conventional domestic heating system.
Thermal and acoustic insulation levels are well in excess of the minimum standards required under current regulations. In addition and with sustainability firmly in mind, every home is provided with multi compartment kitchen recycling bins, water butts, rotary dryers and garden composters.
All of our new build properties are designed & managed, wherever possible, to utilise local tradesmen, materials and resources. Working closely with the Local Authorities and our retained design team, it is our policy to develop houses that meet and service the needs of the local community.
If you are buying a Sheiling home you can be safe in the knowledge that you will be purchasing a product of high quality that supports and complies with the absolute necessity to create modern day sustainable environments.
